IT Recycling
Bulk recycling of servers, networking gear, workstations and IT equipment. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra.
IT Recycling at Electronics Recycler covers the full range of business IT equipment: servers, networking hardware, workstations, storage arrays and peripherals. We are a bulk recycler servicing Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra. Complimentary pickup is available for qualifying volumes; we will work with you to determine if you qualify.
What We Recycle
We accept servers (rack and tower), switches, routers, firewalls, cabling, UPS units, workstations, monitors, keyboards and mice, and related e-waste from offices and data halls. Our service reaches businesses across each capital’s metro and key suburbs — from Sydney’s North Sydney and Alexandria to Melbourne’s Collingwood and Port Melbourne, Brisbane’s South Brisbane and Eagle Farm, and Canberra’s Fyshwick and Hume. We also have public drop-off facilities at each location for smaller loads.
Recyclable Materials in IT Equipment
IT gear contains significant recoverable material. Recycling keeps these out of landfill and supports resource recovery. Typical recyclable components include:
- Metals: Steel and aluminium in server chassis and racks; copper in power supplies, cabling and transformers; gold and other metals in circuit boards and connectors.
- Plastics: Server bezels, cable sheathing, keyboard and mouse housings. Sorted for recycling where feasible.
- Circuit boards: Motherboards, network cards, RAID controllers — processed for metal recovery and environmentally sound handling.
- Power supplies: Copper, steel, aluminium; capacitors and other components disposed of in line with regulations.
- Cabling: Copper and aluminium conductors; plastic insulation. Often stripped or shredded for material recovery.
- Batteries (UPS, etc.): Lead acid or lithium — removed and sent through appropriate battery recycling streams. See our Lead Acid Battery Recycling service.
Data-bearing devices such as hard drives and SSDs require secure handling. We offer Hard Drive and Data Storage Secure Destruction with certificates of destruction when required.
Bulk Volume and Free Pickup
We focus on bulk IT recycling. Free pickup is contingent on sufficient volume. We will work with you to assess your quantity and location and confirm whether you qualify for complimentary collection. If your volume is smaller, you can use our drop-off options in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra. We also support regular pickups and on-site bins for ongoing e-waste streams.
